One important part of good Search Engine Optimization is to have backlinks (other websites that link to your website). However, did you know that the higher your website is listed on the referrer page the better it is for your site? Also, a backlink is more valuable if there are few other outgoing links on that page. Did you know one needs to be careful about what type of websites your site is linking to? Google may punish you if you link to a “bad neighborhood”. A “bad neighborhood” would include sites with inappropriate language or discussion of adult types.
One also needs to check their website links periodically to make sure the website address one is linking to still exists. More to follow next week…
